The Pacific Islands Forum is a political grouping of 16 independent and self-governing states. Members include Australia, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The Delegation represents the EU in the Pacific region, as part of the bloc’s unified diplomatic corps – the European External Action Service With full diplomatic privileges and immunities and an ambassador (Head of Delegation), the Delegation functions much like an embassy.
