PIANGO Board
The PIANGO Board is elected at each Council meeting to implement Council policy between the regional gatherings. The Board meets three times a year, and was originally the Co-ordinating Committee.
Current Board
The 6th PIANGO Council was held from the 10th to 11th of August 2008 at the Rendezvous Hotel, Auckland. The new Board members bring with them diverse interests and management skills to steer PIANGO in its strategic direction.
Chairperson
Drew Havea is the Chair for Civil Society Forum of Tonga (CSFT), also the Chair for the Board of Tonga National Youth Congress and the Tonga Youth Volunteer Service. Drew worked for Peace Corps in Tonga for 25 years.
Members
- Moale Vagi is the Chair for MNCL - Papua New Guinea and is the Vice Chair for PIANGO.
- Claire Baiteke is the Deputy Chairperson of KANGO. Claire is a long time NGO leader in women’s organisations of Kiribati.
- George Salas is a board member from Guam.
- Lorine Tevi is a Board member of FCOSS, Fiji. Former Director and co-founder of Veiqaravi Vocational Centre, is a member of the NCBBF, and a PhD student of Emory University, USA.
- Ahohiva Levi, a Board member of NIANGO, is a retired civil servant now engaged in the Organic Farmers’ Association in Niue.
- Gabriel Tetiarahi of Tahiti is a Board member and one of the founders of PIANGO.
