PIANGO Board
The PIANGO Board is elected at each Council meeting to implement Council policy between the regional gatherings. The Board meets three times a year, and was originally the Co-ordinating Committee.
Current Board
The 5th PIANGO Council, held at the Papua New Guinea Institute of Public Administration, Port Moresby from 17 - 19 October 2005, elected a new Board to take PIANGO forward through to 2008. The new Board members bring with them diverse interests and management skills to steer PIANGO in it's strategic direction.
Chairperson
Adimaimalaga Tafuna'i of SUNGO. Adimaimalaga is the Executive Director of Women in Business of Samoa. She served as Board Member from 2002-2005 and was the Hon. Treasurer.
Members
- Madeleine Ayawa of UTLN Kanaky is the President of the Kanaky NLU, UTLN.
- Claire Baiteke is the Deputy Chairperson of KANGO. Claire is a long time NGO leader in women’s organisations of Kiribati.
- Douglas Ngwele is the Chairperson of VANGO. Douglas also heads the Lakalakabulu Council of Chiefs of Ambae Island, Vanuatu.
- Drew Havea is the Chair of the Tonga CSO Forum, the Chair of the Board of Tonga National Youth Congress and the Tonga Youth Volunteer Service. Drew worked for Peace Corps in Tonga for 25 years.
- Ahohiva Levi, a Board member of NIANGO, is a retired civil servant now engaged in the Organic Farmers’ Association in Niue.
- Sitiveni Turaganaibura is a Board member of FCOSS, Fiji.
