PIANGO to Strengthen Partnership with NZAID

The Pacific Islands Association of Non Governmental Organisations is working towards securing the Grant Funding Agreement partnership with New Zealand International Aid & Development Agency (NZAID) for the years 2008 - 2010.

According to Deputy Chair of PIANGO Board, Drew Havea, the partnership agreement will take the Regional Non Governmental Organisation with twenty–one members in the Pacific to new heights.

“We hope to be signing the multi-year funding for the next two years and to focus on other areas of activities with quality and diversification of resources to carry out PIANGO’s work”. he said.

The Multi-Year funding with NZAID would allow PIANGO to enter into longer-term strategic partnership with a shared concept, goals and expected results.

The partnership between NZAID and PIANGO provides an annual grant to support PIANGO’s core mission of strengthening the Pacific NGO sector in the form of financial support, expertise, advisory and resources.

The major outcome of this partnership will strengthen civil society response with one voice on regional issues, improve civil society engagement with their governments and increase organisational capacity of the PIANGO Secretariat.
