Graduate Diploma Programme (GDP)
The Graduate Diploma in Not-for-Profit Management (GDipNFP) programme (GDP) is designed for managers and coordinators of not-for-profit (NFP) organisations, team leaders, volunteers and board members. It helps managers and their organisations to be more effective. The course is managed by PIANGO in conjunction with Unitec of New Zealand, and is a professional qualification that directly addresses the complexity of working in a NFP organisation.
The programme takes account of students existing knowledge and experience and provides a supportive and cooperative approach to adult learning. The programme encourages students to draw on indigenous knowledge, management theory, their own and others' experience to develop effective, values-based approaches to managing a community organisation. Students are evaluated on the basis of group and individual projects, class participation and written assignments. Assignments are practically based and focus on improving students' organisation's performance and management practice.
