In association with the Pacific Islands Association of Non-Government Organisations (PIANGO), the Niue Organising Committee is pleased to host the CSO Forum 08 on behalf of the Niue Island Association of NGOs (NIUANGO) and Niue.

* Preceding the the 39th Pacific Leaders Forum hosted by Niue in Niue.

The CSO Forum is the meeting place of Pacific NGOs of 22 PIANGO country members, focused on Pacific members' issues and strategic directions.

The Forum should be the means to ensure that Pacific peoples "Think regionally and act nationally" as this is the platform where current issues and concerns of CSOs are tabled and addressed.

The Forum also prepares and provides the CSO Communiqué for the Pacific Forum Leaders' meeting to be held in Niue a few days after the CSO Forum.

Delegates will have opportunity to attend sessions presented by leading and technical experts under the following themes:

• Climate change – impact of climate on the region
• Economic Growth – issues of international and regional aid
• Sustainable development – health issues in the Pacific Region
• Good Governance - social disadvantage and social exclusion for children, youth and families
• Safety and border security – Enhancing border security and wellbeing of the Pacific Region
• Building Capacity – Building community capacity and organisational infrastructure for humane service programming and delivery
• Health – topical health issues for Pacific peoples in the Region
